Our Practice

Dr. Reynolds has been proudly serving the Hoover, Birmingham, and surrounding communities since 1985. He has grown the practice through word of mouth referrals from patients who appreciate the time he takes to get to know them as people and who know he always provides outstanding dentistry with a personal touch.   We value the great relationships we form with our patients who know we truly have the best interests at heart and we want them to always have a good experience while in our care.

Education & Prevention

As a practice, we are true believers that preventative care and education are the keys to optimal dental health.  We strive to provide “dental health care” vs. “disease care”.  That’s why we focus on thorough exams – checking the overall health of your teeth and gums, performing oral cancer exams, and taking x-rays when necessary.  We also know that routine cleanings, flossing, sealants, and fluoride are all helpful in preventing dental disease.  Not only are we focused on the beauty of your smile, we’re also concerned about your health.  A review of your medical history can help us stay informed of your overall health, any new medications, and any illnesses that may impact your dental health.

Advanced Technology 

  • T-scan Technology- Our office is equipped with advanced technology that allows us to provide better care that is more comprehensive and comfortable to our patients. Digital images are safer and provides precise images to analyze your bite pattern on the computer so that we can more accurately diagnose any bite disorders and develop a solution to your TMJ pain or grinding problems.


  • Oral Appliance Technology- If you suffer from the dangers of sleep apnea, you can restore your restful nights – and your health – with our simple, noninvasive oral appliance therapy. 


  • Facebow- The Facebow is a device that helps us to align the diagnostic casts of your teeth so we can have an accurate representation of how your teeth come together. It helps us to evaluate your occlusion and how it may be affecting your TM joints, your bite, and the health of your teeth. 

Causes of Dental Problems

If dental problems were caused only by cavities or dental caries, dental disease would have been cured years ago. We know how to prevent caries through daily hygiene, fluoride, and diet, but the oral structures are more complex than that.

There are three other major causes of dental problems. There are genetic and developmental factors that can leave your teeth more susceptible to dental caries. Previous dental treatment such as fillings, crowns, and root canal therapy may leave weak tooth structure that lead to cracking, breaking and additional decay.

Periodontal disease (pyorrhea) is the leading cause of tooth loss in adults. The oral environment contains not only germs that cause caries, but also germs that attack the structures that keep the teeth attached tightly. Early diagnosis and proper treatment is crucial to prevent the support bone from being lost.

The third major source of dental problems is occlusal or bite forces. Very few of us have perfectly balanced bites, even after orthodontic treatment. Uneven bite forces, developmental habits such as nighttime clenching and grinding (bruxism), and TM joint disorder can cause excessive damage to the teeth.

Infection control in our office is also very important to us.  To protect our patients and ourselves, we strictly maintain sterilization and cross contamination processes using standards recommended by the American Dental Association (ADA), the Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA), and the Center for Disease Control (CDC).

Dr Reynolds dental facility is the ultimate wonderful dental experience. Great parking available right in front of the office so you can walk right in. The decor is beautiful and they have great magazines and coffee. I almost never have to wait over 5 minutes. The staff is friendly and welcoming. The chairs are comfortable and they have tv's in every exam room. They also have windows in the exam rooms so it isn't claustrophobic. They have state of the art equipment. The staff explains what they are doing and using so that you aren't caught off guard by anything. They offer cosmetics without being pushy. I would recommend his practice to anyone and everyone in the city of Birmingham. The location is convenient as it is very close to IH 65 near the Alford Avenue exit.

I am a new patient to Dr. Reynolds. My appointment was received without hassle or wait. The environment is extremely professional and far exceeded my expectations. The staff is warm and welcoming. The office is aesthetically appealing. I went in due to discomfort of a tooth and received a root canal without any pain or discomfort at all. The dental service was like sitting at home in the living room in your favorite comfy chair, reclining of course. With t.v. remote in hand and in my own private suite, my root canal was comfortably done in record time! X-rays were done with out having to change locations in the office. Yes, Dr. Reynolds office and staff is modern and technologically precise! I even got emails and text messages to remind me of my appointment. To top it all off, the morning after my root canal I received a personal call from Dr. Reynolds to check on how my mouth was feeling, WOW!!! #CUSTOMER SERVICE#WARMTH#BEAUTIFULRESULTS!!! You will FORGET you are at the dentist!

Dr. Reynolds is not only a very nice person, but very talented at what he does. I work as a dental temp all over Birmingham , and I see a lot of work done in other people's mouth! I was amazed at what I saw when taking care of his patients! A tooth colored filling, looks like it is part of your tooth! He is very detailed oriented and that is what makes a good dentist! It is an art! And Dr. Reynolds has it!
